One door closes and another door opens. The door that was "drearic.com" has now closed and a new door opens. "donrearic.com" is now at your fingertips. Thanks to Phil Elmore. if you like what you read here, it might not be available if it were not for him. There is a long list of people to thank, Jay (He got the ball rolling way back when and taught me a lot, what a great friend.)…Ken (Talk about someone who has a level-head in the middle of strife and adversity.), C.D. (You know who you are.) and everyone else that helped me out or encouraged me along the way.
Special thanks go to Seth. Much of what you see here would not have been possible without my good friend Seth.
To those of you that have corresponded with me in the past, thank you for the compliments and encouragement. When you start seeing E-mail from Mr. Fred Perrin, Raymond Floro, Dr. Brett Jacques, Jerry Van Cook, Ralph Mroz, D'Arcy Rahming and many other names in the Self-defense "Realm," it can be an intellectually intoxicating experience. The continued support of James Keating and Datu Kelly Worden is greatly appreciated as well.
When I look at the compliments from these fine people as well as the plethora of positive comments from every day people who find value in my articles, it makes all of the fruit and nut comments from the Lunatic Fringe of the Cyber-World seem all that much more insignificant, meaningless and in some extreme cases, almost perfectly stupid.
Always have your "Nonsense Meter" set to "Maximum." In the past, I have had to answer several E-mails from people who just don't understand some things. I used to think that this was my fault but because so many other people do understand what I am talking about… I find it hard to believe these wannabe Modern Day Masters of Martial Mayhem and Self-proclaimed Experts who run around saying I refer to myself that way when I never have…are not tracking properly on what I am trying to get across to people.
Some of them are simply combative in their E-mails and statements; they have invested a lot of time in what they are studying and a lot of money as well. It must make them incredibly angry to hear something that does not sit well with the status quo they have been spoon-fed.
Others are a bit more petty and sinister…
I have to learn to stop engaging people who are either crazy or "crazy like a fox." Meaning, some people are just nuts and others act like nuts to be controversial so they can peddle their material. Some of them have busy, spiteful little fingers too. Pretty sad really.
What this Site is about
The purpose of this Website is very simple. It is to provide good information to good people. Nothing more and nothing less. If you are under eighteen years of age, please pass this site by. It's not for you, at least not yet. I hate to do that, but this is about maturity and wisdom. You won't immediately become "smart" when you turn eighteen years of age, in fact, there are a lot of incredibly stupid adults - two, three…some are four times that age!
This has to do with liability and social responsibility. You should seek the Guidance from your Parents and not a Website on issues like Self-defense. Your Parents are there for you and believe it or not, they are usually an invaluable resource, priceless. I'm a Parent also and it is my responsibility to take care of my Child, it is not the responsibility of someone who owns a Website. The same holds true for you and your parents.
I know some Parents demand a pacifistic approach from their children when it comes to Self-defense. If you are under eighteen years of age and your parents are forcing you to bow to the will of bullies at school or anything like that, I'm sorry it has to be that way. But I don't want you to take something from this website and use it to defend yourself. I don't want you ruining your life or getting in trouble. Just attempt to deal with the problem(s) in a meaningful way between Parents, Teachers and Law Enforcement if you must involve them. When you are an adult, you will have a better perspective and you can develop your own philosophy on important topics like Self-defense, Politics and whatnot.
To the Malcontents and Miscreants
This website is not for the dark trenchcoat wearing little sonsabitches who think it's "cool" to hurt people because those people made fun of them or because Mommy and Daddy did not pay enough attention to their fingerpainting when they were six years old. Life is not "The Matrix meets Revenge of The Nerds," OK? Get a grip on your life before you ruin it and if you think you don't have a life, get a life now before it is too late. There are too many people in this country who have no life and they refuse to get a life and instead they choose to take life. It's stupid, it breeds unnecessary violence and it's not acceptable behavior from a human being. And if you have a friend who keeps saying they want to kill people or blow up something, stay the hell away from them and tell your Parents or another adult you trust. Don't hang out with them and don't hassle them or try to change them. Listen to wisdom, you cannot change anyone, you can only change yourself. You cannot change someone else, they must do that. But do something positive in your life by not associating with them - regardless if you like them - and tell someone anonymously if you have to, what problems the other person is going through.
Yes, "rat them out." Just remember that does not make you a "rat." That's a derogatory phrase and term created to promote "Honor among thieves" to protect each other. Don't get involved in that garbage.
If you are a criminal, I hope you get what is coming to you. I hope if you attempt to victimize someone, especially children, women or the elderly, the weakest among us, I hope they are able to give you what you deserve, I hope they kill you. If you succeed in hurting someone, I hope you get caught and get to spend as much time as possible in prison. If you murder someone, I hope you take the needle for it. Simple.
To the Critics and Do-Gooders
The Mission of this Website is to give good people equally good information so they can survive whatever a hostile environment might happen to throw at them. It is not about providing the criminals, psychotics and disgruntled among us with dangerous information.
If you think that is what this Website is about, you are sadly mistaken.
If you do not believe in the Private Ownership of Firearms, Edged or Impact Weapons, regardless of the exact type… Or you do not believe that as a Human Being in general and an American Citizen in particular that you have the absolute, non-negotiable, basic Human and Civil Right to Life, Liberty, The Pursuit of Happiness and a Right to Self-defense that NO ONE regardless of Title can take away… You are probably not going to be happy with what you see.
There are articles, reviews and essays on Weaponry; overt, covert and exotic, Multi-Tools, Pocketknives, Flashlights and Gadgets, interesting tools and handy tools, Personal and Home Security…many things.

ALL of the Material, Photographs, Scans, Illustrations and Drawings as well as Text are Protected, no unauthorized duplication please. In the case of other people, friends, writing Reviews, etc., this covers their material as well. This includes Articles by James A. Keating and possibly Kelly Worden in the near future which will usually be Articles not written for this site, but Articles that are of some value that have been published elsewhere with the idea that placing them here will preserve them.
I do not encourage nor do I advocate that you break the law in any way. Consult an Attorney if you have questions about the legality of certain items, techniques or tactics. I also do not advise you to do anything unsafe or dangerous, please use common sense. You are also not encouraged to hand-make any item because you see it on here, in most cases, things like that are to illustrate different things, like what you, as a good Citizen, might face on the street. The same holds true for you Law Enforcement Officers out there who read the site. The information is not placed out there so people can hurt you. If you are a Street Cop for any length of time, you know that hoodlums don't need a website to place a lock in a sock. Be careful out there please. Thanks for doing a thankless and oftentimes terrible job that all the critics don't want to do but feel safe telling you how to do it. And if this site gives you a heads up on something someone might be carrying to hurt you and you see that coming, that's a GOOD thing. That's another reason this site is here. Please use your discretion on the job to allow honest Citizens to carry what they can within reason to defend themselves and don't make criminals out of them for doing so. Also please realize that not everyone reads this website, so if you see something on the street, do not automatically assume the person is aware of the special "properties" of some things, i.e., that they are carrying that Multi-Tool to hurt someone, etc. It's simply not so. That's what happened with the LEO Training Video, "Surviving Edged Weapons," all of the sudden, anyone with a pocketknife on them became a killer in the eyes of many who watched this video during Academy or In-Service Training. Sometimes I think it hurt the Community more than it helped.
Train safely in whatever Martial Endeavor you choose, when shooting, always use high quality eye and ear protection and follow Safe Gun Handling Rules. If using Training Weapons like rubber, plastic, dull steel or aluminum knives, please use eye protection and any other protection required for the level of training you are involved in. Don't turn Lifesaving Arts and Skills into a tragedy because you failed to follow rules or use common sense.
Join The National Rifle Association, The Gun Owners of America and Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership.
Register to VOTE! I will not tell you how to vote, you examine the stance of the Politician in question and you decide what's more important in life, that you have the Right to Self-defense and access to the devices that would make the defense a success. Or just put your head down and follow the herd and vote for your Social Security that won't be there when you need it. Or for some silly, political red herring like a "Traveler's Bill of Rights" or a "Patient's Bill of Rights," while the same people that push those things slowly dismantle the real Bill of Rights.
It's your choice, choose carefully.
I cannot tell you to financially support the various Law Enforcement Associations in good conscience because most of them have Anti-Gun stances. I will tell you this, support and give donations to your local Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) to be placed in the fund for Police Officers killed in the line of Duty. These funds help the families of Officers who have been killed trying to make the streets safer so you are safer. Help the Widows and Widowers and their Children out, OK?
